"God gave us our memories so that we might have roses in December." - J. M. Barrie

I have just found a sweet blog featuring wildflowers in the winter. The name of the blog is Joy in the Morning. I do long to see the flowers that usually start to bloom here as early as February and continue through the fall. But it is so dry here and we have had some very hard freezes so I have not even seen a hint of spring growth yet in the pastures and on the sides of the roads. I decided to cheer myself, and maybe someone else, by looking back and posting some of my photos, paintings, and sketches from previous years.

I love your journal work! I makes me wish I could go out and look for some wildflowers to draw. But I know there are none out there. Yesterday my son and I went out. The snow is gone, but there is almost no sign of new life. We are waiting eagerly.

Hello Molly Jean,
We have almost the same name as I am Molly Jane. Both your photos and lovely works of art are beautiful. In your profile, you mention that you are a teacher. I am guessing art teacher. I am glad that you have joined Wildflowers In Winter.

Also, if you are interested and have the time, please stop by and play Cookie's Treasure Hunt. I'm giving away my collage "Contemplation in a Parallel Universe" this week.
